That is the moment most homeowners learn what the kitchen electrical circuits required by code actually look like today. The number is not two. It is closer to seven or eight.

The good news: the wall is already open. This is the cheapest possible moment to fix it. The bad news: most older homes need a panel upgrade before those new circuits can even be added. What Kitchen Electrical Circuits Are Required by Code?
